Amber Wilkie is the owner and photographer behind Live Action Photography, a North Texas-based sports photography company specializing in modern team and individual portraits, elite athlete portraits, media days, and live game coverage. A Texas native, Amber grew up in Houston before attending Stephen F. Austin State University, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Statistics. Sports have always been a major part of her life, from playing competitive softball as a pitcher and third baseman to coaching athletes at multiple levels, including t-ball, select softball, pitching instruction, and high school softball.
After serving 10 years in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer and Nuclear Engineer, Amber discovered a passion for photography while photographing her own children’s sports. Combining her technical background, lifelong athletic experience, and creative eye, she developed a style focused on capturing the intensity, confidence, personality, and emotion of youth sports. Through Live Action Photography, Amber brings a modern, professional media-day experience to athletes and families with organized photo days, dynamic imagery, and a fully digital ordering experience designed for today’s sports organizations and families.
